Discover Garlenda

Situated at the mouth of the Valley of Lerrone, on the plains of Albenga, the city of Garlenda is surrounded by greenery, orchards, olive groves and vineyards famous for the production of Pigato, Rossese and Vermentino.

The historical information comes from the High Middle Ages, when it was a stronghold of the lords "Della Lengueglia" and "Costa" family, who built between the XVI and XVII century, near the river,  their castle which is very prominent and recently restored. The castle is home to several of Garlenda's social and cultural events, both in the summer season, but also in other times of the year.

The idyllic location between the sea and the green of the golf course, the quiet atmosphere and the charm of the Ligurian countryside, make Garlenda a very special place, one of the most prestigious in Liguria.

A place where you can breathe the scent of nature and enjoy a variety of outdoor sports: golf, at the famous Club with 18 holes very appreciated by the players, tennis, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking.
The village of Garlenda is also famous for the international meeting of the Fiat 500 Club, which every year attracts thousands of fans and tourists who can visit the Cinquecento World Headquarters and the Museum.

In Garlenda there are also many religious architecture of great interest, such as the Parish Church of the Nativity, dating back to the seventeenth century, with an octagonal dome and bell tower in baroque style. Inside, in addition to the fine inlaid marble, there is a canvas from the seventeenth attributed to Guercino, a famous italian painter.

Finally, the church of San Rocco deserves a special mention because of the pulpit on the outside of the structure overlooking the park, and especially the old oak tree near the church, declared a national monument.
